Intruder Alarm Systems

How important is the intruder alarm system?

Offices and businesses suffer huge losses because of theft and vandalism by unauthorized persons who enter such premises at odd hours. To an office, vital information, equipments and vandalism can be very devastating. To businesses, theft of goods and damage to machinery can be the end of operations. Apart from negatively affecting the operations of an office or business, intruder actions can demoralize employees.

It therefore becomes very necessary for offices and businesses to have intruder alarm systems for security. These security systems operate by detecting unauthorized movement at locations they are installed and transmit intruder signals to a control point that monitors the systems. While some of the systems feature sirens that set off on detecting any movement, others operate remotely, simply sending signals to the control center whose personnel are obligated to take quick action. Such action includes liaising with a security agency nearby and or sending their armed personnel to a signal location.

At times however, an alarm system can send false alarm signals to a control center. This normally happens with faulty systems. Although such signals are normally continuous, they cannot be ignored by a control center's personnel, they are obligated to notify their alarm technicians promptly to rectify the system.

Various types and models of intruder alarm systems are available the market. Although one can install an alarm system on is/her own, most are installed by security companies vetted and licensed to provide security solutions. The different alarm systems available are designed for different applications. While some are suitable for residential buildings, others provide security to offices and business premises.

Various factors determine the cost of having an intruder alarm system in place. Some buildings are pre-wired for security systems during construction. This reduces the overall installation costs since a security company will simply carry out installation without the need for wiring. Although various security companies provide and install security systems, their rates are almost the same, having been set by their security association.

Installing a security system at home, office or business premises is now not an option but a must. This is because of the rising incidents of burglaries reported across the world. Installing an alarm also has additional benefit when it comes to insurance. Having an alarm system in place reduced the cost of insurance coverage purchased for a home, office or business.
