When installing your outdoor cameras for surveillance it is an important thing to remember that you need to plan it first. The placement of the cameras is crucial when it comes to getting any benefit from the surveillance system.
Wireless outdoor security cameras can be easily installed anywhere since you don't have to be worrying about the power and the wiring of the camera. You can use a battery powered camera and have the image transmitted wireless to your recording device.
Besides just the pros of these cameras there are cons also. When using wireless data transfer methods there is always an increased risk of the data being corrupt or that someone else is also watching it. Stealing the video is an easy job if you know what you are doing and that way someone can find out where your cameras are placed. Besides just stealing the video stream, they can feed your system a new one. This might be a regular video of nothing happening, while in fact someone is in your premises and stealing your valuables.
This is an extreme case and most of the cameras have such powerful signals that they can not be interrupted this way. Also the transmission of the wireless outdoor security cameras are usually scrambled in such ways that they are impossible to view without knowing the scrambling key that is pre-set to the surveillance system.
All in all I would rather rely on wired security cameras instead of wireless ones, since they might have some issues that are not solved yet.
